Stal fan 'e Sibbe
Under the stable name Fan 'e Sibbe, we breed Frisian horses on a small scale. We bought our mare, Yvonne fan 'e Goëngamieden, seven years ago in a village 5 km from here. This turned out to be the same farm where Herma, as a seven-year-old girl, cycled to care for a Frisian horse with her sister, and her love for the Frisian breed began. What a coincidence! Things had come full circle.
Our mare was three years old at the time, and when she was five, we had her inspected, and she was officially admitted to the Royal Frisian Studbook. Although she lacked the coveted Ster predicate, she has incredibly strong bloodlines and a fantastic temperament, so we started breeding her. With great pleasure and excellent results!
Yvonne fan 'e Goëngamieden (2015, Hessel x Leffert) is a very sweet mare that even the youngest children can ride. At De Sibbe she has already let hundreds of children do a lap on her back without putting a wrong step. Yvonne is Herma's riding horse and the princess of the herd: everyone loves Yvonne :)
Tjalle fan 'e Sibbe (2022, Jurre x Hessel) was Yvonne's first foal. He was born in the herd on King's Day and was and is our great pride. As a foal, he received a second premium and grew up in our mixed herd between the mares and geldings for the first year. After that, he was allowed to go to the stallion herd in the summers and to us in the winters with his great friend Baileys. Our Tjalle was sold to America in 2025.
Wytse fan 'e Sibbe (2023, Ulbrân x Hessel) was born in May 2023 and it was immediately clear that he was more handsome than handsome. As a foal, he received a first premium and was even allowed to participate in the championship round of the breeding day! In 2.5 years, Wytse developed into an extremely handsome stallion with a thick mane and eyes to get lost in. Wytse was allowed to go to the pastures with young stallions in the summer and grow up at De Sibbe in the winters and has always been easy going. Now he is back in the herd as a gelding and is slowly being trained to become the most wonderful family horse ever! Our Wytse is for sale for the perfect home ;) T: 06-83 60 36 56
Benthe fan 'e Sibbe (Herre x Hessel) was born in May 2024 in the middle of the night in the meadow in the middle of the entire herd. Finally a filly! We're keeping her :) Benthe has a beautiful conformation and a very sweet and strong character. She is self-confident and brave. That's not surprising, because Benthe lives in the herd and is protected by everyone, she doesn't have to worry about anything! Benthe also received a first premium as a foal and excels in her spacious walk and powerful, uphill trot. As a 3-year-old we will also have her inspected and in the future she will hopefully produce beautiful foals herself again!
